What’s the warranty on a new home?

The warranty on a new home is defined by statute in SB800. It is ten years on major elements (earth, structure, foundation, some waterproofing), and shorter on many trades like electrical, plumbing, air conditioning. The Fit and Finish warranty is one year. Manufactured items (windows, flooring, equipment, fixtures) are one year, but often have a longer warranty from the manufacturer. Be sure your contractor has a plan to service the house if they are from out-of-area.

The Rebuild Process

Our pre-construction design, plan check and permitting process is ready to go! While the County always finds it’s way to present challenges, we have massive experience on board to get projects done.

Our structural engineer was formerly a plan check supervisor at LA County Department of Public Works and is so concentrated in LA County Single Family – he had SIXTY projects lost in the Eaton fire. This is personal to him, and he’s staffing up to rebuild!
Our permitting expeditor counted 97 LA County jobs they’ve done, and is the only expeditor I know of who has a proprietary software they use for document control and transparency of the process.
We have a variety of architectural designers to work with, depending on the particular needs of the client. But for those who want to focus on Like-For-Like, I recommend one designer in particular as he is very efficient at putting together a drawing set for Los Angeles County and will work with clients in a 3D Sketch-Up model.
