Two Stories. One Fresh Start.
A modern two-story rebuild on Ewing Ave — designed for the way families actually live today.
Project Overview
This Eaton Fire rebuild on Ewing Avenue gave the Heyday team an opportunity to think about not just what was lost, but what the homeowner needed next. The result is a clean, modern two-story residence — generous in space, smart in layout, and fully designed to work within the insurance claim.
At approximately 1,839 sq. ft. across two floors, the home gives this Altadena family room to grow. The ground floor anchors everyday living, while the upper floor creates the privacy and separation that a busy household genuinely needs. It’s the kind of home that makes the rebuild feel like more than recovery — it feels like a step forward.
Design Highlights
The aesthetic is clean and confident — a modern two-story volume with purposeful lines and a facade that sits comfortably in Altadena’s evolving architectural landscape. No excess, no clutter. Just a well-proportioned home designed for real life.
The attached two-car garage (an upgrade from the previous layout) connects directly to the ground floor for daily convenience. Upstairs, the upper floor creates natural separation between living and sleeping spaces — ideal for families who need both togetherness and privacy. Fire safety measures required for the Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone are built into the design from the start, not added as an afterthought.

Why This Rebuild Matters
For some families, a like-for-like rebuild is the right path. For others — especially those whose previous home no longer matched their family’s size or needs — the rebuild is a chance to get it right. Heyday Build listens first. When this homeowner’s needs pointed toward a two-story layout, we worked within the insurance claim to make it happen.
That’s the Heyday difference: we don’t just replace what was there. We build what the family actually needs, for what the insurance actually covers.
